Dear Sir/Madam

Cosmos House is a specialized unit for Alzheimer’s and dementia sufferers situated in Kensington, Johannesburg. All of our residents are elderly and as such, require 24 hour attention as they are unable to care for themselves.  The home is multi-racial and providing the standard of care required is expensive and well beyond the financial capabilities of most working families.

Alzheimer’s is a degenerative disease of the brain and regretfully appears to be attacking people of all walks of life at an earlier age than has hitherto been the case.  Because of this some of our residents would normally still be productive in the work place and the fact that they have contracted the disease, places a heavy burden on themselves and their families.

Cosmos House is part of The Flower Foundation Retirement Homes, a non-profit organisation, which receives no support from public funds. Cosmos House has to raise funds for anything beyond its budgetary requirements.

Some of the items that we are in need of are:

• Smoke Detectors
• Emergency Generators
• New Security System

The purpose of this letter is to ask whether you or your company would be prepared to sponsor such a day, either by entering a four ball (which includes a dinner & prizes), sponsoring a hole (using this for your company advertising), by donating a prize/s, or making a cash donation.

Your assistance as to whether you or your company can support Cosmos House in this fund raising event would be very much appreciated.
