IS ALZHEIMER’S THE SAME AS DEMENTIA
Dementia is an umbrella term of brain diseases, such as Alzheimer’s disease that cause long term gradual decrease in MEMORY, the ability to THINK & REASON and the ABILITY TO CARE for one self. Other typical symptoms include emotional problems, problems with language, and a decrease in motivation. These brain diseases also include, vascular dementia and Lewy Body with Dementia as well as other dementias and memory disorders.
GOALS OF THE WORKSHOPS
When you leave our workshops you will have a better understanding of the THREE STAGES of Dementia including Alzheimer’s disease. You will gain TOOLS that you can implement immediately as well as be introduced to RESOURCES to assist you on this this difficult journey.
- Mild Cognitive Impairment and Stage 1 discussions about symptoms, stages, medication and legal aspects.
- Stage 2 discussions about challenging behaviour, progression, communication and
- Stage 3 discussions about daily activities of living, care homes and guilt. Palliative care, funeral planning and bereavement.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND
Families, friends, curators and all caregivers offering assistance, support and care either in home or working
at residential care homes.
