Rand Aid Association's Thornhill Manor is set within a fully secured residential village on the historical site of Modderfontein. The 18-hectare retirement village is characterised by a sense of tranquillity and complemented by its landscaped gardens and beautiful water features. For residents' ease, Thornhill Manor is located close to many amenities including shops, the post office, a garage, sport and golf clubs and beautiful nature reserves and walks.

Thornhill Manor comprises 112 two-bedroom (99 m²) and 101 three-bedroom (124m²) north facing cottages, available for purchase on a life-rights basis to people 65-years-old and over.

Each cottage has two bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen with ample cupboard space and provision for a dishwasher, washing machine and refrigerator/freezer; lounge/dining room, roofed terrace, enclosed drying yard and a single or double lock-up garage with automated garage door. Frail care facilities are available at Rand Aid's Ron Smith Care Centre, a mere five kilometres away.

Other facilities include an interdenominational chapel; recreation centre comprising a large, well-equipped hall with stage; a swimming pool; transport to shops and amenities which are in close proximity; comfortable community centre and library. Facilities for a hairdresser are available on site and a physiotherapist; podiatrist and beautician provide services on appointment.
