Intellatread Tecnologies

We provide safety related services and products to aid in the prevention of slip and fall accidents. The primary surface treatment is called Intellatread.
Intellatread is a uniquely formulated compound designed to react with silica sand in any mineral surface such as concrete, ceramic tile, terrazo, granite, stone, porcelain, slate, quarry tile etc. The result of the chemical reaction with the mineral surface is a creation of thousands of microscopic crevices, a tread pattern that creates a suction cup effect when the treated surface becomes wet. The treated surface in fact becomes less slippery wet than when dry.
Moreover, unlike many other chemicals that work topically and eventually crack, peel, rub off or are affected by ultra violet light, Intellatread will not crack, peal, chip with age.

Intellatread can be safely applied without jeopardizing the structural composition of the material on which it is applied or the integrity of grout. If a surface is finished with a high gloss, treating it will slightly dull its appearance, other surfaces of less gloss will reveal no noticeable change. Unfortunately, glossy surfaces are not safe surfaces. Traction is reduced in proportion to how glossy a surface. We will gladly treat a test area free of charge for you to judge the minimal discernible change in appearance.
The majority of bathtubs and showers are porcelain and tile and when treated a change in their appearance cannot be detected with the naked eye. Treating a porcelain bathtub with Intellatread has very effective results. In fact most bathtubs look brand new after treatment with Intellatread.
Treatment of floor surfaces is equally impressive and the resulting non-slip surface is clearly evident when the surface becomes wet.
Our trained specialists will undertake the treatment at a time to suit your requirements causing the minimum of inconvenience.
Treated surfaces can be used immediately after treatment as there is no curing or drying time required.

A Intellatread treatment will reduce the risk of slip and fall accidents which can result in costly Workmans Compensation claims, downtime, customer lawsuits and an ensuing loss of goodwill.

The American Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1992 lays down safety standards
for business floors and other treated surfaces. These standards are universally accepted as a bench mark. The measurement for determining the slickness of a surface is known as the coefficient of friction. The ADA requires that business maintain a coefficient of friction of at least 0.5 on floor surfaces. The Occupational Safety and Hazard Administration of America also require that businesses in that country maintain a non-slip surface.
When a slip and fall accident occurs at premises the onus rests upon the tenant/owner to prove that adequate precautions have been taken to ensure the safety of customers and employees.
By treating the surface with Intellatread, the surface coefficient of friction will be raised to greater than 0.5.

While technically the treatment is expected to last the life of the tile we provide a 1 year warranty from the date of application, provided that the treated area continues to be used in the same manner and for the same purpose it was on the date of application, and that it is maintained according to our cleaning instructions.
In the event of the treated area, or any part thereof, losing its effectiveness during the 1 year period, we will retreat that area at no additional charge.
