La Clemence

La Clémence is a luxury retirement village, situated in the heart of the Cape winelands.
The fourth and final phase of development is currently under way. On completion, la Clémence will incorporate 138 homes, offered for freehold ownership. The architect-designed homes are a stylish interpretation of a modern Cape-Dutch vernacular, set amidst beautifully landscaped gardens.
La Clémence boasts a modern healthcare centre that caters for the wellbeing of all our residents. In addition to primary healthcare services, the healthcare unit offers frail care and sub-acute facilities for both long and short-term stays. In addition, la Clémence recently celebrated the opening of Bonheur – a complex of 20 beautifully appointed apartments, especially designed for assisted living.
Since its launch in 2005, la Clémence has seen phenomenal interest in sales during each of its four development phases. The first three phases were rapidly sold out, although there are a select number of completed homes available for resale. Most of the homes at la Clémence are already occupied.
Set within the tranquil grounds of the la Clémence retirement village, our light and airy health care centre is open to anybody over the age of 50 years, whether one is a resident of la Clémence or not.
The centre is designed to cater for a maximum of only 18 clients, assuring our patients of the utmost privacy and attentive, personal service. Within the health care centre, there are 12 beds available for frail care, and six for sub-acute (step-down) care. The air-conditioned centre is equipped to international standards of modern comfort. Each bed comes with its own television, offering a choice of 10 entertainment channels.
Our highly qualified, experienced and dedicated staff offer peace of mind to clients, and their friends and families. The health care centre is a perfect haven to recuperate or – when the time comes – to pass with dignity and respect. We are conveniently located for visitors; being only minutes away from modern shopping facilities and top-class hotels. Cape Town International Airport is easily accessible from the nearby N2 national road.
Within the frail care centre, six beds are registered with the Department of Health and the Board of Healthcare Funders for sub-acute (step-down) care. This registration allows our patients to claim the costs from their medical aid provider, subject to prior admissions approval.
The sub-acute facility caters for patients who no longer need the acute care of a traditional hospital, but are not yet well enough to care for themselves at home e.g. following a heart attack, hip replacement or episode of emphysema.
