This old building was lovingly restored and converted into the nucleus around which the Napier Retirement Village was designed. Our residents enjoy breath-taking country views, wide-open spaces, undulating farmlands and hills, relaxation and comfort in beauty and security. There are many farm stalls, restaurants and shops in Napier, as well as a wealth of natural attractions. These include:

There are 7 terraced houses, 25 cottages, 25 assisted living units and 19 health care beds. Country cottages: There’s a choice of one or two bedroom units set in a landscaped garden setting and Cape Dutch style architecture: Thick walls, exposed rafters, tapered windows, courtyard gardens with ‘werf mure’ and terraces. Terraced houses: What was once the ‘Ou Skool’s’ woodwork building, this wing was converted into three 2-bedroom units and three 1-bedroom units. Each with its own north facing terrace and stunning country views. You get compact, convenient living at affordable prices. Assisted living: What was once the ‘Ou Skool’s’ classroom block, this new wing surrounds a courtyard garden containing 25 assisted living units. They’re close to nursing assistance and the healthcare facility. It also has its own library and living and dining rooms. Club house and communal facilities: What was the ‘Ou Skool saal’ (hall), now is the beautifully renovated Club House. Life at Napier Retirement Village Western Cape revolves around the Club House. This is where residents meet to eat their tasty meals in a beautiful Victorian dining room which opens out onto a terrace with breath-taking views of the surrounding countryside. Healthcare centre: We have a profession Healthcare Centre offering a full range of nursing services. All units have panic buttons that connect to the nurses’ station. We offer four levels of healthcare: Basic care: Availability of 24-hour nurse call. Low care:  Availability of 24-hour nurse call, general monitoring and administration of medicines. Medium care: Availability of 24-hour nurse call, daily visits by nurses and general monitoring, administering of medicines and assisted daily care. Frail care: Residents live in the healthcare centre. Here they receive administration of medicines, assisted daily care, daily visits by nurses as well as a higher level of general monitoring. Our Healthcare facility is also available for non residents as well as residents who require short term recovery and additional assistance for a period of time.
