Starke Ayres Garden Centre & the Silwood Shopping area is within a short walk & the brand-new Riverside Mall is with a 2-minute drive. However, the home offers daily transport to the shopping mall on request.
The Huis Luckhoff retirement community is the oldest retirement complex in Cape Town, founded in the 19th century & relocated to its current site in the 1950. The Reverend Luckhoff founded the community, with the guiding principle of care in the local community, we continue his work into the 21st century with a well-managed with residential home.
We are home to 210 vibrant individuals, we encourage activities & community projects, but we also respect individual right to privacy. The home was many peaceful spots.
Our services and facilities, include on-site management, manned reception, twenty-four-hour security, catering, room cleaning, laundry services, Coffee Shop, Library, Hair Salon and twenty-four-hour nursing presence.
A community vehicle & driver is available to ensure residents are taken to medical appointments within the surrounding area, this is available Monday to Friday. The aforementioned shopping trips remain popular, these are accompanied.
Critically, all our residents have access to Nurse Call / alarm, our emergency response system via a pager.
The facilities are surrounded by our well-maintained gardens, many of our apartments look west towards a fabulous panorama of Devils Peak & Rhodes Memorial. Alternative we offer quiet & sheltered accommodation with courtyard garden views. The property can be circumnavigated without leaving the security parameter, residents can walk safely around the property.
