Akina Mama Memory Frail Care Pretoria focuses on residents who require substantial personalised care. Our Home is suited for a maximum of 6, Dementia related illness and Alzheimer’s disease residents.

We currently attend to 40 patients in their own home environment and with that experience have identified the need for a facility, when homecare becomes too strenuous on the family.

Rooms are spacious and decorated however, patients are welcome to incorporate their favourite bedding, pictures etc. into their own space. Akina Mama Memory Frail Care Pretoria focuses on a homely family atmosphere, giving patients the opportunity to spend time outdoors together with an indoor area to spend quality time with family & friends.

All-inclusive in the monthly tariff:

• Managed and owned by a Registered Nurse
• 24-hour care by a motivated, Dementia trained team of care workers and support staff
• Three nutritional meals as well as snacks, served in the dining room
• Medication monitoring, ordering and supervised administration
• Basic manicure and pedicure offered with a visiting Hairdresser – (basic cutting and styling) every six weeks
• All laundry requirements are on-site

Additional care for our frail care residents:

• Medically related procedures such as basic wound care and bedsore intervention
• Diabetes care including administration of insulin
• Palliative end-of-life care within appropriate use of care directives

Additional to the monthly tariff:

• Medication and Dispensing Levy, Adult Continence requirements,
• Mobility items and other personal requirements are additional.
• If required, referrals to Medical Practitioners, Wound Care Specialists, Pastoral Counsellors and Psychologists can be arranged which are for your own account.
