Retirement Village Witbank Society for the Aged – Edenpark is located in an inviting area with large established trees and gardens. At Retirement Village Edenpark the emphasis is on affordable retirement with the convenience of 24-hour care. The village houses a fully functional service centre: The Oasis Service Centre, which has a dining room, hair salon, communal hall, communal lounge, library, a privately run convenience shop, chapel, conference room, braai area, transport services, laundromat and postal services.
The Oasis Senior Centre was established in 1982 and has been delivering services to the elderly of Witbank for over 30 years. All members of the Oasis Senior Centre enjoy the activities and services of the Centre as well as the Oasis Clinic, including:

OASIS CLINIC PROVIDES Registered nursing staff that cater for the residents’ and staff’s medical needs at the Oasis Clinic. Monitoring of blood pressure and blood sugar is essential. Wednesday is foot care day, a firm favourite. Clinic sisters visit residents that are infirm and provide aftercare services for residents recovering from illness or surgery.
The Nursing staff of the Oasis Clinic oversee the Mid Care Section. The Clinic sisters also do community services for those in need.

EDEN PALMS FRAIL CARE SECTION: 33 beds in Frail Care are supervised by professional nurses. Communal lounge and dining area for Frail Care residents. Occupational therapy, physiotherapy and private medical visits at residents’ own cost.
EDEN PALMS MID CARE SECTION: 12 bedrooms each with private bathroom. Dedicated care giver on call 24 hours a day. Attractive communal lounge and dining room. Passive exercises for Mid Care residents. Intercom call system and Panic button in each bedroom and bathroom.
LIFE RIGHT UNITS: Edenpark Retirement Village offers a choice of 144 Life Right Units either 1, 2 or 3 bedrooms. They consist of a lounge-cum-dining room, kitchen, bathroom (s), courtyard and either a garage or carport. A monthly levy is charged. The price is determined by the size of the Life Right unit. With Life Rights, you will receive 80% back of the original purchase price on vacating the unit.

MTHIMKHULU CENTRE AND HOUSING FOR THE AGED
This project was established to serve the formerly disadvantaged aged and disabled community of Lynnville. The Centre caters to bring the aged together to socialise and have a nourishing meal, and they are also able to take part in the following skills programmes:
• AET
• Sewing
• Knitting
• Crochet
• Bead work
• Gardening
Twice a week on the Tuesday and Thursday, a qualified Staff Nurse sees to the needs of the residents. Visiting them in their homes and seeing to any possible problems / complaints. The Staff Nurse does foot care, monitors their vital signs and takes vital information to make sure that the correct medication is issued to the residents. Each resident has a complete medical card and nursing plan. The Staff Nurse goes to the local clinic Poli Clinic to get necessary medication for the residents, or if needed will refer the resident to the Witbank Hospital for care.
The housing consists of 7 communes, each commune houses 8 older or disabled persons, thus the project can house 56 older or disabled persons.
Those wanting to become residents of Mthimkhulu have to go through a screening process by the Management of the Witbank society and the Department of Social Development due to the housing being partially subsidised.
The resident receives three meals, tea, snacks and all their washing. Housekeepers attend to the residents and care for them. The Housekeepers are trained by the Staff Nurse on various health and safety aspects that can affect the aged that they work with.
In order to care and see to all the needs of the aged, fundraising is an absolute priority. There is a constant need and the day to day running costs need to be catered for such as:
