South Africa has a population of approximately 5,7 million (9,2% of the population) and according to SASSA there were almost 3,7 million Old Age Grant beneficiaries as at 2023. Given these stats and the current economic landscape; the need for affordable sheltered housing remains.
While the organisation provides support services for older persons to live independently for as long possible, there may come a time for increased care and support in a safe, caring environment. Tafta has in the past year housed 1850 older people at 13 homes around Durban providing a range of accommodation for independent living, assisted living and those who may require frail care. Units / homes are available on both Life Right / Rental for persons 60 years and older.

Secure basement parking available to rent. Monthly levy includes: Water, rates, all maintenance, weekly servicing and advisory clinic, 24 hour on-call manager, security, building insurance. NO SPECIAL LEVIES EVER.
Community Centre with library, hairdresser and communal dining room – optional lunch: R35-00. Sold on Life Rights – no profit sharing upon refund and the unit cannot be let. Only for persons over the age of 50.
In addition, the home provides opportunity for recreation and wellness through the wellness centre and clubs with on site Wellness Activity Coordinators and Social Workers ensuring the emotional and physical wellbeing of residents are met.
